Health Disparities Journal Club
The Health Disparities Journal Club reviews journal articles and supporting material to stimulate discourse on health inequalities. The objectives of the H/D Journal Club is to increase public awareness of the socioeconomic and racial/ethnic inequities in health and their human and financial costs; to promote understanding of the various ways in which class, racism and disempowerment influence health outcomes; and to illustrate how well-being is not just a matter of making good choices and having access to quality care, but that our outcomes are inextricably linked, for better and worse, to the social conditions that surround and shape our lives.
The Health Disparities Journal Club meets monthly under the leadership of Perla Vargas, Ph.D. - See Calendar of Events for details
